Community involvement
We have a strong community focus represented through the Wallerawang/Lidsdale P&C association and the individual, committees, businesses, organisations and companies that actively support the school to enhance student learning and wellbeing. There is community connectedness through a culturally safe, inclusive and equitable school environment.
Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)
Our P&C is a group of parents, carers and school community members. They assist with school planning, fundraising, events and volunteering. Our P&C works in partnership with our school to promote the interests of our school community.
Joining the P&C a great way to meet other families, get involved and contribute to our school's future. We would love to have you on board!
P&C meetings
Our P&C meetings are held twice each school term, providing a valuable opportunity for parents, carers, and community members to engage with the school, discuss upcoming events, and contribute to decisions that support our students’ learning and wellbeing.
These meetings take place on Monday afternoons at 5:30 pm in the school library, creating a convenient and comfortable environment for participants to collaborate and share ideas.
To ensure all members of our school community are well-informed about upcoming meetings, we advertise them through multiple channels. Notices are included in our regular school newsletter, which is distributed to families and staff, offering detailed information on meeting dates and agenda items. Additionally, reminders and updates are posted on both the P&C Facebook page and the Wallerawang Public School Facebook page, allowing for easy access and engagement through social media. Finally, our digital sign located at the front of the school provides a visible and timely reminder for anyone visiting or passing by, helping to maximise awareness and encourage participation in these important meetings.
Below is a three-part podcast series featuring two of our P&C life members, Julie Knox and Dianne Van Der Velden.
Di and Julie reflect on their time with the P&C — sharing their stories, memories, and advice for the future as we celebrate a century of dedication to our school and community.
